Uvea
Uvea is the middle coat of the eye, the vascular coat, Being rich in blood, it is prone for various blood borne conditions forming a spectrum.
Uveitis- This may be autoimmune / infective / an internal or an external source.
Few conditions sometimes pass of as a " red eye" while few may be more sinisterous, repeating, de-capacitating, requiring extensive investigations. Complications like cataract, glaucoma, corneal decompensation, retinal detachments, macular swellings can occur and hamper vision.
Treatment modalities at NNH are eye drops, injections, surgeries & immune suppression.
